I wanted to leave this review for the vegetarians and vegans out there. All of the online menus only showed pork and beef dishes. However, there is an entire vegetable section of the menu. The "wheat" noodles are vegan and the lo mein noodles are made with egg. I ordered vegetable lo mein and the egg tarts. The Lo mean portion was huge and probably the best I have had in years. The staff was slow as there were only 3 others with me in the store for a weekday lunch. The restaurant was open and pristine. I look forward to my next meal here! Give it a try!

The noodles are so good. Always first choice in 9th street. And the food is fast and warm.

My sister and I went in for dessert. We had the egg tart and the mango sago. Both were very delicious. I had the strawberry shake sago and my sister got the hot Logan, red date and wolf berry tea, it reminded us of the same drink our mother made for us. Very nostalgic. Quaint and charming place. We will be back for the food the next time we are in town.

Very nice Chinese restaurant! The food is decent, and service is excellent as well. We ordered two dishes and they were ready in less than ten minutes.

We had known about this restaurant for a while since it's location in Durham had a revolving door of other establishments. Finally decided to visit on a chilly Sunday evening with a discount from a local dining club. Looks to be popular with Duke students. We were quickly seated but it took a while for someone to bring us a menu, then for someone to take our orders, and then at the end to bring the bill. We enjoyed the cucumber salad app, and I enjoyed the pork belly noodle soup. My wife had fried rice. Overall, food was good, prices were decent, but I think the wait staff could be a little bit more attentive to customers ready to order or ready for the bill.

I visited Wheat in Durham yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. As a big Asian foodie, I really enjoyed the spicy cold cucumbers and the noodles. I got the beef noodles and my partner got the spicy noodles. I thought my soup had the perfect balance of savory with sour (vinegar and other ingredients), while my partner thought his noodle soup was adequately spicy. Something that surprised us both was the addition of garbanzo beans to the soup- a twist of the traditional recipe. Overall, I found the service and food to be excellent and will be coming back here.

This was the first Chinese/Taiwanese noodle place I've tried here and probably one of the few that exist in the triangle, and it was decent! I personally enjoyed it a lot and I would go back again. I've had a good amount of Taiwanese food back home in Hawaii and often find myself craving it. Now that I've tried other places here and can compare, I find that the soup and the flavors here taste more "clean" than say, Asian kitchen, and I kind of appreciate that about this place. If you're used to more flavorful deep soups with beef noodle soups, it's possible you wouldn't like this as much as what you're used to. But if you've never had something like this before, I think you'd like it. It is kind of pricey and I wish they gave more than 1 piece of yuchoy. For the area it's in, I do hope it continues to be open because this sort of cuisine is not common in the triangle and it hits the spot when I'm craving it. The custard egg tarts were good as well, which is also difficult to find in the triangle.
